The Folde + 2U Laundry

I’m excited to finally announce that we’ve been acquired by 2U Laundry. We’re officially building laundromats and launching delivery services all over the country – together.

A Quick Message to the Team:

This is the tin shack we started the business in. There are a handful of folks still here that remember the end of our tenure in that tin shack.

And that’s really impressive!

In the beginning, we had so few orders that we played wiffle ball inside between deliveries – we played so much that we painted home plate on the floor.

As orders started coming in over time, we started living at different laundromats around town. We paid to use machines at random laundromats from 7am – 9pm…on an early night. We were even open seven days per week. Hindsight 20/20, seven days per week was a terrible idea.

A lot of laundromat owners in town laughed. Some were mean. They all said delivery laundry service would never work out. Fun Fact: Most of them are trying to offer delivery laundry service now…

There’s been a lot that’s happened since then. There’s been a lot of good stuff, bad stuff, fun stuff, and hard stuff. And a lot of work.

It’s crazy to think how far we have come since then. And you all have been a part of that. You’ve worked those same early mornings and late nights. You’ve created a real company. I’d argue you’ve also created an industry within laundromats – one that those other laundromat owners from earlier are just now trying to get into.

None of this happens without you. You’ve built something really special.

And, so has the team at 2U Laundry. They have a very similar story. They’re hard workers. They build beautiful laundromats. And they’re really good at laundry delivery.

Now, we’re doing it together.

I’m excited to finally announce that we’ve been acquired by 2U Laundry. As of about 5 minutes ago, we’re officially building laundromats and launching delivery services all over the country – together.

I’m excited and I hope you are too. This isn’t the end of anything. This is the next step. It’s still going to be a lot of hard work. And I’m really excited to get to work with you. Thank you!
